γ-p Total Hadronic Cross Sections at 7.5 GeV

Abstract

The total hadronic $\ensuremath{\gamma}p$ cross section has been measured using 7.5-GeV positron-electron annihilation radiation in a hydrogen bubble chamber. A value of 126 \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{} 17 \ensuremath{\mu}b is found, excluding reactions with only one charged particle (\ensuremath{\sim}3 \ensuremath{\mu}b).
