Symmetry Breaking of the Chiral $U(3) \otimes U(3)$ and the Quark Model

Through an analysis of the masses of "' } and X mesons, possible symmetry breaking terms are introduced, in addition to the quark mass term, and are explicitly constructed from quark fields. The six-fermion interaction is discussed as one of their simplest examples.
