Experimental study of<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mrow><mml:msup><mml:mi/><mml:mrow><mml:mn>113</mml:mn></mml:mrow></mml:msup></mml:mrow></mml:math>Cd β decay using CdZnTe detectors

A search for the fourfold forbidden \ensuremath{\beta} decay of ${}^{113}$Cd has been performed with CdZnTe semiconductors. With 0.86 kg \ifmmode\cdot\else\textperiodcentered\fi{} d of statistics a half-life for the decay of ${T}_{1/2}=[8.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.2(\mathrm{stat}.){}_{\ensuremath{-}1.0}^{+0.2}(\mathrm{sys}.)]\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{15}$ yr has been obtained. This is in good agreement with published values. A comparison of the spectral shape with the one given on the Table of Isotopes Web page shows a severe deviation.
