Stanley A. Klatsky, MD, is Editor in Chief of Aesthetic Surgery Journal. As Editor in Chief of Aesthetic Surgery Journal , I often receive feedback from colleagues who tell me how much they enjoy the journal and how useful it is to them. While I appreciate these comments greatly, from time to time it is necessary to seek a more scientific measure of just how well the journal is meeting the needs and expectations of its readers. That is why, in November 2005, the Editorial Board undertook a comprehensive readership survey. A 4-page survey was mailed to a random sample of 500 domestic recipients of Aesthetic Surgery Journal . An electronic version of the survey was sent to an additional 112 international recipients of the journal. The survey was developed by Franklin Communications, a firm specializing in publication research, and all survey responses went directly to the company for tabulation. The overall response rate to the survey was an outstanding 26.9%. I am very pleased to report that Aesthetic Surgery Journal received exceptionally high marks from its readers.
