Ist das [9]Annulenkation ein Möbius‐Annulen?

Macht es den Twist? Nach Rechnungen auf höchstem Theorieniveau kann das [9]Annulenkation in zwei isomeren Formen vorkommen: als verdrilltes Möbius-aromatisches 4n-Elektronen-Annulen oder in einer nichtverdrillten bootähnlichen (Hückel-)Konformation (siehe Schema). Die zweite Konformation wurde durch Laserflashphotolyse-Experimente nachgewiesen. Demnach steht der experimentelle Nachweis für ein unsubstituiertes Möbius-Annulen nach wie vor aus.
