The harsh reality of large, integrated data volumes

The general availability of 3-D data interpolation and display tools, and recent reductions in the cost of high performance graphics workstations to run them on, has helped introduce such tools into the mainstream of geoscience interpretation. Many types of data (such as formation tops, fluid contacts, faults, porosity, and seismic data attributes) can be modeled quickly on a full or partial field basis, and visually analyzed by the armchair interpreter.
