Abstract

We present evidence of the observation of the centrally produced φφ system at 800 GeV/c in the reaction pp→pslow(φφ)pfast. A clear bump is observed over low φK+K− and K+K−K+K− background. Statistics are comparable to those previously obtained in π−p interactions, where three 2++ waves were found to comprise all cross section.
