Measurement of the<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msup><mml:mi>τ</mml:mi><mml:mo>−</mml:mo></mml:msup><mml:mo>→</mml:mo><mml:msup><mml:mi>K</mml:mi><mml:mo>−</mml:mo></mml:msup><mml:msup><mml:mi>π</mml:mi><mml:mn>0</mml:mn></mml:msup><mml:msub><mml:mi>ν</mml:mi><mml:mi>τ</mml:mi></mml:msub></mml:math>branching fraction

A measurement of the ${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$ branching fraction has been made using $230.2\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of data recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider, located at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$ close to 10.58 GeV. We measure $\mathcal{B}({\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\tau}})=(0.416\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.003(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.018(\mathrm{syst}))%$.
