Abstract

Collision-free quiescent plasmas are produced in a magnetic mirror geometry by applying ∼50 W uhf power to a novel coupling structure which surrounds one section of the plasma. The plasma characteristics are favorable for studies of waves, diffusion, stability, and turbulence.
