Epoxidation Catalysis by a Manganese Corrole and Isolation of an Oxomanganese(V) Corrole

If porphyrins can do it corroles can do it better! The relatively stable (oxo)manganese(V) corrole 2 can be characterized by spectroscopic methods following its ready formation from [Mn(tpfc)] (1, H3(tpfc)=5,10,15-tris(pentafluorophenyl)corrole). Complex 1 is a mild catalyst for the epoxidation of styrene by iodosylbenzene.
