Absolute total cross section measurements for intermediate energy electron scattering. I. He

Total absolute cross section measurements have been performed on the e--He system in the energy range 100-1400 eV. A modified Ramsauer-type apparatus was used; the angular resolution was increased by means of a new original design of the interaction chamber. The systematic uncertainty is 2%; the random uncertainty is 1.5%. Good agreement is found with the latest experimental results.
