Abstract

Using the algebra of currents and the sum rules recently derived by Weinberg, we calculate the electromagnetic mass difference of pions and obtaim ${m}_{{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}}\ensuremath{-}{m}_{{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}}\ensuremath{\simeq}5.0$ MeV.
