Leiomyosarcoma of the superficial soft tissues

HILE THE occurrence, characteristics, and behavior of malignant smooth muscle tumors in the uterus, the alimentary tube, the retroperitoneum, and a few other organs are well recognized and have been described repeatedly, the occurrence of these tumors in the superficial soft tissues has seldom been recorded and does not seem to have been the subject of any comprehensive studies.Perhaps this should not surprise one, for it is a tumor that occurs but seldom in these tissues.
