Abstract

Synopsis The reactions of Medicago species to several alfalfa pathogens are reported. M. suffruticosa and M. dzawkhetica appeared to be the most promising species as sources of resistance to the black stem complex of fungi. Other perennial species contained plants resistant to one or more fungi. The host range within the genus Medicago was extended for 8 pathogens of alfalfa.
