Decision Tools for Dairy Manure Handling Systems' Selection

ABSTRACT TWO linear programming models have been de-veloped to assist dairy farmers in managing their manure. One model is designed to select the opti-mum manure handling system from a group of feasi-ble alternatives given the resources of a particular farm. The second model determines the optimum manure management policy in context with the entire dairy enterprise.
