Abstract

Laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy was safe and effective in treating a wide range of myopia and astigmatism. The potential advantages of LASEK over laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) include the elimination of stromal flap complications and greater choice in patient selection. The disadvantages include varying degrees of pain for 2 days and blurry vision for several days postoperatively.
