Abstract

ABSTRACT Cyclic loads, such as eccentric pumping units, cause a varying torque on the driver. Determination of the most effective induction motor for the load is addressed. Ultra high slip motors as well as NEMA design motors are evaluated. Comparison of operating costs for the same load are presented.
