Multidisciplinary care of patients with Parkinson's disease

Abstract There is increasing evidence that the effective care of patients with Parkinson's disease should involve a multidisciplinary team of health professionals, including the neurologist or geriatrician, Parkinson's disease nurse specialist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, dietitian, clinical psychologist and social worker, among others. Here, the authors review the evidence for the efficacy of multi‐disciplinary working and describe their own model of care in Derby.
