A Study of the Birth Weight and Gestation of Dairy Animals

The birth weight of a calf is always of interest to breeders. In spite of this fact there is very tittle definite information available concerning the factors that influence the birth weight of calves. This paper is the result of a study of the calves dropped in the Kansas State Agricultural College dairy herd. This herd is made up of representatives of the four major dairy breeds.
