SOME PROBLEMS OF ANIMAL VIROLOGY AS STUDIED BY THE PLAQUE TECHNIQUE

The rapid and important developments that have taken place in the field of bacteriophages in the last fifteen years are due to a number of favorable circumstances. Very important among these was the production of plaques, and the early recognition that they are produced by single virus particles; this caused the development of morphological, physiological, and genetic studies of the virus particle.
