Uranium and thorium content nearly identical in hydrated and nonhydrated glasses, uranium content of crystallized material less than glasses from same unit while thorium abundance nearly the same, volcanic ash layers subjected to hydration without devitrification not likely a large source for uranium ore deposits of sedimentary basins
