Supply Chain Management Dimensions, Supply Chain Performance and Organizational Performance: An Integrated Framework

Evidence has shown that organizations seldom achieve the competitive advantage offered by supply chainmanagement technique. This may be attributed to the fact that current methodologies for analyzing supply chainsare not sufficiently comprehensive, particularly when it comes to understanding the complexities of SCM andorganization performance in an unified context. In addition, researchers have not comprehensively answered keyquestions such as what are the linkages between different dimensions of SCM and what are the linkages betweenthe underlying dimensions of SCM and SCM performance. Gap also exists in terms of understanding of therelationship between SCM performance measures and organizational performance measures. The study seeks toaddress these issues. Based on a comprehensive literature review, a theoretical framework and propositions arederived. In culmination, the description for possible findings and implications of the study for managers isconsidered. Overall, we argue that increased interaction between important constituents of supply chainmanagement will enhance the organization’s ability to meet desired goals. Finally, directions for future researchare also presented.
