Modular Assembly of a Functional Polyoxometalate‐Based Open Framework Constructed from Unsupported Ag^I⋅⋅⋅Ag^I Interactions

No ligand support: Modular assembly of the title system (see picture; Ag purple, W blue, O red) has been achieved using {H3W12O40}5− and {Ag2}2+ building blocks to give a material with [Ag(CH3CN)4]+ ions in its microporous channels. This framework is constructed by unsupported AgI⋅⋅⋅AgI interactions, and sorption studies show that the framework can reversibly adsorb up to 10 wt % acetonitrile.
