Magnetic Pulse Welding & Joining – A New Tool for the Automotive Industry

<div class="htmlview paragraph">Magnetic Pulse Welding (MPW), a cold solid state bonding process, is becoming a viable replacement for conventional fusion welding processes and explosive welding for tube to tube applications.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">The process is presented in this paper together with its fundamental equations.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">Some examples of similar & dissimilar weld applications are illustrated as well as some interface microstructures.</div>
