The habitat fragility of Manglietiastrum sinicum

Manglietiastrum sinicum is an only species of Manglietiastrum Law in the primitive Magnoliaceae. There are only 7 individuals surviving in Wenshan nature reserve, endemic species center of southeast Yunnan, which is one of three biodiversity centers in China. Its habitat and reproduction are studied. The results show that the surround environment conditions are severely destroyed by soils over exploited on limestones, the chance of seed spread is low and seed germination is difficult for the isolated small area thus the species falls into threatened conditions. Through the studies of the species endangered mechanism and its habitat fragility, the conservation measures are put forward.
