Management of Transurethral Resection of Prostate for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia in Peri-operational Period

Objective To summerize the management of transurethral resection of prostate for benign prostatic hyperplasia in peri-operational period.Methods A study was carried out about preoperative preparation,managment during operation and prevention and cure of complication after operation.Results Postoperative blood was observed in 6 cases,urinary incontinece in 10 cases,and urinary tract infection in 7 cases.Pulmonary infection occurred in 3 cases,venos thrombus of lower extremity in 1 case,and transurethral resection syndrome was seen in 1 case.All cases got recovevy expect 3 cases of uvinary incotinece after a follow-up for 3 months.Conclusion Adequate preoperative preparation,proper management during operation,all basic nursing and prevention and cure for complications are important measures in peri- operational period of transurethral resection of prostate.
