Abstract

Eighty‐five admissions for posterior epistaxis were reviewed, and treatment with posterior packs was compared with surgical ligation. The failure rates (26.2% vs 14.3%), complication rates (68.8% vs 40%), and length of hospitalization (7.8 days vs 5.6 days) all favor surgical ligation as the definitive treatment for posterior epistaxis.
