Reaction $pi$$sup -$p$Yields$$pi$$sup -$$pi$$sup -$$pi$$sup +$p at 25 and 40 GeV/c

The reaction pi /sup -/p yields pi /sup -/ pi /sup -/ pi /sup +/p was measured at 25 and 40 GeV/c at the Serpuknov Proton Accelerator. The production cross section as a function of beam energy, momentum transfer, and 3 pi mass is presented, and results of the partial-wave analysis of the 3 pi system are discussed. (auth)
