Classical Electricity and Magnetism

The appearance of any book from the Cavendish Laboratory is an event of interest and consequently the present work will be very widely read and critically examined. The author quite naturally has taken one of the standard lines of approach available to teachers of electricity and magnetism which, though regarded by ascetics (and some others) as somewhat old-fashioned, is roundly and competently defended by the author in his preface.
