E217 Study on Heat Transfer from Hot Water to Air with Evaporation

Heat transfer from the hot water flow to the cold air flow was examined. The total heat transfer rate was divided into two components of the evaporation term and the convection term. The evaporation term was dominant in the heat transfer and 70〜90% of the total heat transfer rate. Correlations for both the evaporation term and the convection term were derived from the present experimental results. The predicted total heat transfer rates agreed well with the measured results.
