Some Plains Indians In The Church Records Of New Mexico¹

The information found relating to four Plains tribes, Aa (A.e), Jumano, Kiowa and Pawnee, in the baptismal and burial records of the Catholic Church in New Mexico for the period from 1694 to 1875 is summarized in tabular form. A brief description is given of the circumstances resulting in these records and their possible significance to Plains history.
