Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation for Severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Among patients with very severe ARDS, 60-day mortality was not significantly lower with ECMO than with a strategy of conventional mechanical ventilation that included ECMO as rescue therapy.
