ZnS quantum dot intercalated layered double hydroxide semiconductors for solar water splitting and organic pollutant degradation

M^IIZnAl-LDH/ZnS QD (M^II = Co or Mn) nanocomposites were synthesized by assembling oppositely charged 2D LDH layers and ZnS QDs. The M^IIZnAl-LDH/ZnS QDs exhibited enhanced visible light harvesting ability, considerable visible light photocatalytic activity and photostability.
