Synthesis and Characterization of Gold Nanoparticles by Chemical Method in Presence of (1-(2-Benzyloxy Ethyl)-5-Nitro Methyl Imidazole) Drug Using Sodium Borohydride as a Reducing Agent

Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) have been synthesized via reduction of sodium tetrachloroauratedihydrate (NaAuCl4.2H2O) using Sodium borohydride (NaBH4) as a reducing and stabilizing agents in presence of Metronidazole Benzoate (MTZ.B) (1-(2-benzyloxy ethyl)-5-nitro methyl imidazole) drug by chemical method. The resulting Au NPs were characterized by UV–Vis spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FT-IR spectroscopy. The average diameters in particle size distribution charts by the AFM image were around 74.21 nm.  The FTIR spectra of the prepared Au-NPs proved that the ligand molecules have been covalently attached on the surface of Au-NPs.
