Design of Tri-band Transmissive Polarization Controller Based on metasurface

We propose a tri-band transmissive polarization controller based on metasurface that can transmit y-polarized wave into two circularly polarized waves. The unit cell is composed of one layer of 3mm thick substrate and two layers of metal patches. Through the design of the top and bottom metal patch structure of the unit cell, it can transmit the y-polarized wave into the left-hand circularly polarized wave from 4.75GHz to 6.00GHz and can transmit the y-polarized wave into the right-hand circularly polarized wave from 13.38GHz to 14.40GHz and from 16.87GHz to 17.55GHz. And the simulation results show that the axial ratio in the three frequency bands is less than 3dB, and the total transmittance can reach up to 90%. The polarization controller designed in this paper has important application value in the fields of microwave, THz and even optics.
