EVANGELII GAUDIUM: LUZES PARA A CATEQUESE

This research studies the Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium, finding intuitions for a new catechetical paradigm. Much has been said about the inefficiency of the current Christian initiation process, which shows signs of expiration and collapse. Evangelii Gaudium brings pertinent questions to catechetical action and sheds light on changes. It is a text rich in theological and pastoral possibilities, especially in the field of evangelization and mission, in which catechesis of the Church is. The principles of the Exhortation suggest a true catechetical conversion, recommending the transition from traditional catechesis, focused on doctrine and sacraments, to a kerigmatic, mystagogical catechesis and with personalized accompaniment of those to be catechized. Such conversion requires audacious courage from ecclesial communities, the roots of which are found in the evangelizing action of Jesus of Nazareth.
