Abstract

A questionnaire rating the desire to drink was given to a group of alcoholics after half had received a strongly flavored vitamin mixture with 1 oz of vodka and half without alcohol, and half of each group had been told they were drinking alcohol. It is concluded that the desire for alcohol after one drink is related to psychological rather than physiological factors.
