Analogy between granular flows down an inclined channel and the motion of a bead down a bumpy line

The main objective of this paper is to present an analogy between the motion of a single bead down a bumpy line made up of juxtaposed bead and granular flows down an inclined channel with rough bottom. This analogy enlightens the role of particle rotations and friction.
