Secured Blockchain-Based Database for Storing Sensitive Information for Access Control IoT Systems

The presence of IoT devices in our day-to-day life is increasing exponentially as they make our life comfortable and convenient. With low computational power in IoT devices, the data stored presents a concern of privacy and security. We intend to solve this concern by leveraging blockchain technology that provides protection against attacks, seamless deployment, self-maintenance, easy authentication, data privacy, and security. To implement blockchain technology requires speed and cost overhead and, therefore, blockchain technology cannot be everywhere in the IoT segment. This study mainly focuses on storing sensitive access control information like biometric data in a secured database for access control IoT systems that are used in secured places like banks, labs, etc. We have implemented this idea on the Ethereum platform.
