Migration of di(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate, diisononylcyclohexane‐1,2‐dicarboxylate and di(2‐ethylhexyl) terephthalate from transfusion medical devices in labile blood products: A comparative study

In addition to lower toxicity, transfused patients using PVC-DEHT or PVC-DINCH blood bags are less exposed to plasticizers than using PVC-DEHP bags with a ranging exposure reduction from 38.9% to 87.3%, due to lower leachability into blood components.
