Association of Laparoscopic Approach With Improved Short-Term Outcomes in Patients With Hematologic Malignancy Undergoing Splenectomy

Laparoscopic splenectomy was associated with lower 30-day mortality and morbidity, and shorter length of stay in patients with hematologic malignancies. These data suggest that laparoscopic approach, when feasible, may be preferred for splenectomy in this patient population.
