Microsurgical approach to peripheral nerve tumors of the upper limb

The microsurgical approach to peripheral nerve tumors should take into account many factors, including the diagnosis, the location of the mass, the available surgical instruments, the surgeons’ skills or preferences and the patients’ requests. The peripheral nerve tumors can be fairly considered rare findings, thus it is unlikely to have the chance of building up a personal experience, based on a large casuistry, about this niche topic. For this reason, the aim of this article is to provide a comprehensive overview which may help the reader to start his/her journey into the complex but beautiful world of the microsurgery applied to peripheral nerve tumors. This review article takes up the main points of the authors’ previous work, whose reading is warmly recommended.
