The Cambridge structural database: current directions developments and future directions

Abstract The Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) contains bibliographic, 2D chemical and 3D structural results for organocarbon compounds studied by X-ray or neutron diffraction. The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC) which maintains the database was established in 1965. The CCDC is not only responsible for the maintenance of the database but also produces and distributes the software to enable the searching and analysis of the stored information. The complete package, database plus software, is referred to as the CSD system.
