Power Performance Implications of a Different Binning Strategy

The heritage approach to the solar cell binning was fine for several years and compatible with various performance distribution, close to the Gaussian. Recent cell mass production data demonstrated better yield control and lower standard deviations compared to the past. This observation together with the emerging needs of the large constellation business, suggested a simplified approach with an acceptable compromise on average performance loss.
