Measurements of the <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mrow><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>ν</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi>μ</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:mrow></mml:math> and <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mrow><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mover accent="true"><mml:mrow><mml:mi>ν</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mo stretchy="false">¯</mml:mo></mml:mrow></mml:mover></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi>μ</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:mrow></mml:math>-induced coherent charged pion production cross sections on <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mrow><mml:mmultiscripts><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant="normal">C</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mprescripts/><mml:none/><mml:mrow><mml:mn>12</mml:mn></mml:mrow></mml:mmultiscripts></mml:mrow></mml:math> by the T2K experiment

We report an updated measurement of the ${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}$-induced, and the first measurement of the ${\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}$-induced coherent charged pion production cross section on $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ nuclei in the Tokai-to-Kamioka experiment. This is measured in a restricted region of the final-state phase space for which ${p}_{\ensuremath{\mu},\ensuremath{\pi}}&gt;0.2\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$, $\mathrm{cos}({\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\ensuremath{\mu}})&gt;0.8$ and $\mathrm{cos}({\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\ensuremath{\pi}})&gt;0.6$, and at a mean (anti)neutrino energy of 0.85 GeV using the T2K near detector. The measured ${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}$ charged current coherent pion production flux-averaged cross section on $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ is $(2.98\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.37(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.31(\mathrm{syst}{)}_{\ensuremath{-}0.00}^{+0.49}({\mathrm{Q}}^{2}\text{ }\text{model}))\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}40}\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$. The new measurement of the ${\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}$-induced cross section on $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ is $(3.05\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.71(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.39(\mathrm{syst}{)}_{\ensuremath{-}0.00}^{+0.74}({\mathrm{Q}}^{2}\text{ }\text{model}))\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}40}\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$. The results are compatible with both the NEUT 5.4.0 Berger-Sehgal (2009) and GENIE 2.8.0 Rein-Sehgal (2007) model predictions.
