Continuum Models of Discrete Systems

The volume contains 70 papers presented as invited general lectures and research contributions at the 7th international symposium on Continuum Models of Discrete Systems.The purpose of the interdisciplinary CMDS-symposia is to bring together scientists working on continuum theories of discrete mechanical and thermodynamical systems in the realm of physics, mathematics, theoretical and applied mechanics, material science, and engineering, and to join divergent languages, questions and methods developed in the respective disciplines.
