There is a growing concern that Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) may not adequately address the needs of students from historically underserved groups, such as students of color, students living in poverty, English as Additional Language Learners, Students with Disabilities (SWDs), and students who have experienced trauma. This chapter starts with a review of the current applications of PLEs in diverse educational contexts, aiming to identify prevalent issues and challenges. In doing so, it seeks to develop effective strategies and approaches that bridge the gap between PLEs and higher education. Furthermore, the chapter explores the significant role of educational administration in fostering equity as a fundamental principle, ensuring student achievement, raising policymaker awareness, and integrating new technologies. Finally, the authors present a set of actionable recommendations for the educational administration to implement within PLEs, thereby fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
