Design Method of Hole Filling Array Based on Extended Co-prime Arrays

In order to obtain arrays with high Degree of freedom (DOF) and low mutual coupling. this paper proposes a novel array structure based on extended coprime array. Firstly, the effect of the positions of the extended coprime array on the differential virtual array is analyzed, and the holes in the virtual array of the extended coprime array are filled by moving the specific positions of the elements, and the number of consecutive lags is increased. Then, the mathematical expressions of the DOF, the aperture of the array and the consecutive lags of the differential virtual array are derived. Finally, under the condition of using the same number of elements and estimation methods, the simulation results of different array structure Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation are compared to verify that the proposed array structure has better performance. Finally, under the condition of the same array elements and estimation methods, the simulation results of Angle estimation of different array structures are compared to verify that the proposed array structures have better performance.
