Thermochemical structuring of nitrile butadiene rubber with the participation of chlorine-containing compounds

A new class of active organic crosslinking agents for butadiene nitrile rubber vulcanization based on halogenmethyl-containing compounds has been found, which can significantly improve the rheological and structural parameters of nitrile butadiene rubber.Studied in binary systems, gel content and Mooney viscosity after roll plasticization.It has been established that the sol fraction of cross-linked nitrile butadiene rubber (SKN-40M+THMSS) is characterized by a bimodal molecular weight distribution.The anomalously large value of M w /M ns of the sol fractions is associated with the bimodal nature of their molecular weight distribution and indicates the presence of a gel in the elastomer.It was revealed that the M value of the sol fractions of cross-linked NBR is insignificant.It has been shown that the sol fraction of cross-linked hexachloroparaxylene and elastomer has lower values of these parameters and a lower content of high molecular weight fractions.The branching density of macromolecules of the sol fractions of cross-linked NBR was 1.90-2.310-3,i.e., on average, it corresponded to one monomer unit and two hundred branching nodes per molecule.Composites based on nitrile butadiene rubber are most in demand in the production of oil and gas resistant rubber products and friction products -hoses and fuel hoses, gaskets, rings, gaskets, gas tanks, oil-resistant tapes, printing rollers, covers.Used for conductive and insulating rubbers, heels and soles of shoes, adhesives and hard rubber, protective coatings resistant to aggressive environments, acid and alkali-resistant rubbers.Sulfur-free vulcanization of rubbers and vulcanization with halogen compounds, in particular, are extremely promising for producing elastomers that are resistant to aging.But the lack of development of theoretical issues of the mechanism of vulcanization with chloraromatics makes it difficult to solve practical issues of vulcanization
