Central Serous Chorioretinopathy Following Symbicort Usage in a 69-year-old Female Patient

Abstract Steroid inhaler usage is the cornerstone of asthma management. This case report describes the development of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) in a 69-year-old female following the use of Symbicort for the management of asthma. The association between inhaled corticosteroids and CSCR is discussed, highlighting the need for awareness among health-care providers. Further research is necessary to establish the pathogenicity of this rare condition and alternatives for patients in whom inhaled corticosteroids are essential to the control of their long-term condition.
